Sign-in is a one-time link, not a password. The link expires after 15 minutes. If it expires, request another from the sign-in page.

How do I stop the newsletter?

Sign in, open Account, then Email preferences, and turn the weekly email off. You can also use the unsubscribe link in a newsletter. Account, inquiry, and booking messages are separate from the weekly letter.

How do I get a copy of my account data?

Email hello@obxthings.com from the address on the account and ask for a copy.

Is a listing a reservation?

No. OBX Things is a directory. An inquiry goes to the host, who decides whether the home is available. Paying for a stay on OBX Things is available only when on-platform booking is turned on, and then Stripe processes the payment. Some listings send you to a partner site instead.

Can I trust the guide, a special, or an event time?

Treat them as a starting point. Hours, prices, specials, and events change. Confirm with the business or organizer. The AI guide can be wrong.

Does the map upload my location?

No. Show my location, if you turn it on, reads your position on the device to center the map. It is not sent to OBX Things. The pins are published places.

1. On the website, sign in, open Account, and choose Delete account.
2. In the app, sign in, open Account, and choose Delete my account.
3. Or email hello@obxthings.com from the address on the account and ask us to delete it.

Deleting the account signs you out, turns the account off, replaces the sign-in email with a pseudonym, clears the display name, and turns the newsletter off. A booking, an inquiry already sent to a host, or a published listing may remain. Say so in the email if you need one of those removed. Details are in the privacy policy.

Email hello@obxthings.com with the page address and what looks wrong: a closed business, a bad price, a special that ended, an event that was canceled, or a listing that is not really for rent. We review reports and can correct or remove the page.

To suggest a public event, email the same address with the name, town, place, date, and a link to the organizer. The public submission form is not open right now.
