January Winter Star Party at Jockeys Ridge
Jockey's Ridge State Park, in collaboration with the OBX Astronomy Club, is set to host the annual Winter Star Party, offering an enchanting evening under the celestial canopy.
Event Details:
Date: Saturday, January 25, 2025
Time: 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Location: Jockey's Ridge State Park Visitor Center Parking Area, Nags Head, NC
Activities:
Telescope Viewing: Multiple telescopes will be available for public use, providing close-up views of celestial bodies.
Children's Activities: Engaging table activities designed for young astronomers will be held in the Community Room.
Educational Video: An informative video presentation will take attendees on a virtual journey through space.
Refreshments: Complimentary hot cocoa will be served to keep guests warm.
Participation:
The event is open to all, and beginners are especially encouraged to attend. Attendees are welcome to bring their own equipment and can receive guidance on stargazing and selecting appropriate telescopes.
