April First Friday in Manteo 2026
First Friday in Manteo Is Back and It Is Still One of the Best Small-Town Nights Out on the Outer Banks
If you know, you know. First Friday in downtown Manteo is one of those Outer Banks events that never really needs a hard sell.
It has already got the winning formula: historic downtown, walkable streets, live music drifting through the air, a reason to pop into galleries and shops, and just enough energy to make the whole town feel like it decided to put on something nice and head out for the evening.
The next one is Friday, April 3, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. in historic downtown Manteo. It is part of a monthly series that runs March through December in 2026, and Dare Arts describes it as a fun-filled, family-oriented evening where the sidewalks pulse with live music, artisans, food, drinks, and more.
For April 3 specifically, the music lineup is already set: Suzzie Jacuzzi performs in The Courtyard, Brad Pivott plays The Davis Lot, and Cor de Lux takes Magnolia Pavilion. Three stages, all free, all outside.
That is part of what makes First Friday feel less like a single event and more like a whole downtown experience. It does not ask you to commit to one thing. You wander. You listen for a minute. You peek into a gallery. Maybe dinner turns into dessert. Maybe dessert turns into "let's just walk down there and see what's going on." Manteo is very good at that.
Running alongside First Friday is the Manteo Stroll, which brings specials, celebrations, live music, and additional activity inside participating galleries, shops, and restaurants throughout town. So even if you duck off the main sidewalks, there is still something happening.
April's event also lines up with a new Dare Arts exhibit opening in the Vault Gallery: Yours Mine Ours, featuring paintings and paper by Jackie and Paul Tury, on display April 3 through April 25. The gallery opening reception is part of the evening, free and open to the public.
For visitors, First Friday is one of the easiest ways to find the more local, creative side of the Outer Banks — the side that has nothing to do with beach traffic or restaurant waits. For locals, it is one of those dependable community nights that just always feels worth it. No big plan required. You just show up.
If you are putting together a spring weekend on Roanoke Island, this is a smart one to anchor around. Spend the afternoon exploring Manteo, grab dinner downtown, and let First Friday carry the rest of the evening.
Small-town coastal magic. This is pretty much it.

Getting everyone to the same beach house at the same time is basically an Olympic sport. ClanCal (ClanCal.com) is the shared family calendar that keeps the whole crew coordinated, so the only thing you're fighting over is who gets the hammock.
